Wine Tasting: ANEW Riesling
I am participating in the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge. Today’s letter is W.
Wine has never really been a favorite of mine. I’ll be honest. If I’m going to have something with alcohol in it, I usually reach for a vodka tonic or margarita. I jokingly tell everyone that I prefer the “hard stuff.”
When I had a chance to try ANEW Riesling, I jumped at the chance. I hoped that, like with coffee, maybe my taste buds had grown up a little bit. I’ve always wanted to be one of those gals who could sit with her girlfriends and have a glass of wine while we chatted about our daily lives. My mom and sister are wine connoisseurs. I know next to nothing. But, I do know that I tried a Riesling once and liked it.
ANEW Riesling is considered a medium sweet wine. The suggested food pairings for ANEW include Asian dishes and pasta with light sauces.
My dinner tonight was chicken parmesan. I know that’s not a “light” sauce, but I felt like the ANEW Riesling was a nice pairing.

I always drank white wine until recently, I know there are heart benefits to drinking red wine, so I am trying to get a palate for it =)
I cannot get myself to like the red wine. I need them to figure out heart benefits for vodka. 🙂
