The magic of Christmas. It’s made of so many things: cold weather, fires in the fireplace, Christmas parties, carols and hymns, lighted houses, Christmas trees, the expectation of Santa’s visit. All of these fun pieces of the holiday often override the most important purpose: the birth of Jesus and the arrival of a savior. The children’s book, Where Jesus Slept, tells the story of Jesus’s birth with excitement and anticipation and helps to remind us why we celebrate this special occasion.
Written by Norma Lewis and illustrated by Katy Hudson, Where Jesus Slept is a precious book that helps take young readers and parents into the stable where Jesus was born. Starting with Mary and Joseph arriving at Bethlehem, the images and words engaged my 3 year old and offered plenty of opportunities to talk about and reinforce what we were learning.

Norma Lewis is the author of ten books. She lives in Grand Haven, MI, with a marmalade cat named Scalawag. They both love spending time with her six grandchildren, ranging in age from three to twenty.
