True Love

I am participating in the Blogging from A to Z Challenge for April. Today’s letter is T.

True love. Everyone searches for it. Not many find it. If you’re a parent, you know the real meaning of true love.

If you’ve ever just grinned and giggled when the newborn-boy urine fountain is on full blast, you know the real meaning of true love.

If you’ve ever caught vomit in your hands to save the carpet, you know the real meaning of true love.

If you’ve ever wiped snot with the corner of your shirt because you don’t have any tissues handy, you know the real meaning of true love.

If you’ve ever shuddered when the poop got under your nails but then just kept at it because, well, it’s there and you may as well go ahead with cleaning the now filled-to-the-brim pants of your potty-training child, you know the real meaning of true love.

After three children, I’m overflowing with true love. No, seriously. Please bring a mop.

Shout out to my BFF Heather and Megan from Parenthood, Seriously? for your inspiration and help!

    1. Sometimes, I wonder if I should have been a nurse. And then I realize that those people wouldn’t be my kids, and I’m perfectly fine with my choices. 🙂

  1. That is the most real-life definition of true love I’ve ever seen! I never thought I’d be the person to try an catch vomit in my bare hands, but I’ve done it more times that I can count!

  2. Isn’t that the truth?! True Love will make you not blink an eye at something you probably would of freaked at, puked over, or screamed about in the past..lol.

    1. Like the food that is somehow left in the sink? That makes me want to gag. But cleaning up for my kids when it’s an emergency? Not a problem.

  3. Great definition of true love. I will admit it gets a little harder to clean up their vomit in their teen years. Lol nothing in the world I wouldn’t do for my kids.
