The Biggest Story (Review & Giveaway)
When you think of the stories of the Bible, which stick out to you most?
Have you ever considered how we can link the first story — that of creation and Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden — to the last stories — those of John in Revelation?
In the new book, The Biggest Story: How the Snake Crusher Brings us Back to the Garden, Kevin DeYoung does just that.
With vivid pictures created by Don Clark, The Biggest Story tells the stories of the Bible in way that captures the curiosity of all children.
I had a chance to sit with each of my oldest (the baby just wanted to eat the book) to read a few pages. From the 10 year old to the 2 year old, everyone was interested.
Miss Sassy Pants (10) is old enough to really understand the deeper meanings of these Bible stories. DeYoung words the stories in a way that the Animal (4) can begin to understand and have a conversation. And the images by Clark kept Flash (2) engaged and excited.
From the publisher:
In The Biggest Story, Kevin DeYoung – a best-selling author and father of six – leads kids and parents alike on an exciting journey through the Bible, connecting the dots from the garden of Eden to Christ’s death on the cross to the new heave and new earth. With powerful illustrations by award-winning artist Don Clark, this imaginative retelling of the Bible’s core message-how the Snake Crusher brings us back to the garden-will draw children into the biblical story, teaching them that God’s promises are even bigger and better than we think.

I think my favorite story would be that of Joseph and his brothers. It shows God’s loving care through seemingly hopeless circumstances!
Very nice choice! It’s a good one, and one I will admit I didn’t know well until I got older. It’s in this book! 🙂
