Thankful: Television

Thankful: Television

Every year in November, I try to post on Facebook a daily expression of my thankfulness. This year, I’ve decided to go one step further and blog daily with these thankful posts. Considering how overwhelmed I’ve been lately, I thought this series would do one of two things. First, it would force me to write every day which is a source of therapy for me. Secondly, it would help me focus on all the wonderful things and people I have in my life.

Sometimes, it’s the little things for which I’m thankful. Considering I spend all day on my toes watching the little ones and being super careful that they aren’t getting in to trouble, getting some gel-out time with the television is key for my mental state.

Math Man and I have a few shows that we like to catch when we finally get to sit down. There aren’t nearly as many on the list as there used to be, but we do have our favorites.

On Sunday nights, we love watching Brooklyn 99. We watched the pilot episode by chance, and we were caught. I love Andy Sandburg, and he finds Terry Cruse hilarious. We’re hooked.

Monday nights, we love Gotham. We’re suckers already for superhero stories and movies, so it was only natural that we’d try it out when it premiered. My only complaint is the choice for Bruce Wayne. I keep asking Math Man how they’re going to age him before the show is over.

Tuesday nights, we love to catch The Mindy Project. Math Man wasn’t convinced in the first few episodes, but if you know who Morgan is, you understand why he finally got hooked. We’re also waiting for New Girl to start back up. I’m entranced by the story of Nick and Jess.

Wednesdays we try to catch Modern Family. I’m almost embarrassed to admit that we haven’t watched it all along. We started watching right as Baby Diva was born because most TV shows had ended their regular season, and we were able to catch reruns. We sure were missing out. Some day, we’ll take the time to go back and watch from season 1. If you’ve never seen an episode, just pick up whenever you can catch it. You won’t regret it.

I’m still addicted to Grey’s Anatomy. Most of the comments I see about this show is that it’s old or past its time. I’m still enjoying the stories (and I’m a little in love with Alex). I’ve somehow managed to suck Math Man in to watching it with me, too.

What shows do you love?
