T: Turning Three #AtoZChallenge
Tomorrow is Flash’s birthday. He’ll be three, and I’m kind of in this surreal acceptance phase.
He’s our spunky one. Turns into a little old lady when he talks to his baby sister. He’s always been good at mimicking people and appearing to be making fun of them. We call him a monkey because he can perch on any item and not fall.
He came easily into the world. In fact, my labor with him was filled with happiness and laughter. It’s no wonder that he keeps us in stitches on a daily basis. But he’s not easy. Oh no. Along with the funny that this little boy brings is all of the frustration.
I don’t so much believe in the zodiac signs and the fact that all humans fall into a specific category based on their sign — this seems a little silly to me. But Flash is a Taurus and he, without a doubt, fits the description of hard headed, bullish, difficult. He’s so strong-willed that for the first time with any of our children, Math Man has had to carry him kicking and screaming out of a store.
People say that two years old is the hardest age. That “terrible twos” will wreck you. My kids don’t have “terrible twos” so much as they have that whole “threenager” phenomenon. So, we’re bracing ourselves.
Flash is a mighty little big guy. He’s precocious and kind. He’s stubborn and sweet. He’s my snuggler. He’s our vehicle lover. He’s the “funny one.”
He’s the one who will make you rip your hair out and then give you a hug when you’re crying because it hurts.
And here’s the cliche moment you all were waiting for: I cannot believe he’s 3.
Happy Birthday, Flash. I love you.
