"Sleeps in the kitchen with her feet in the sink…"

Today, we visited Aaron’s grandmother and grandfather. The kids were as gracious as they could be considering we’d forced them to spend 12 hours in the car two days ago, and they still haven’t quite recovered. Walking into their house suddenly threw me back to a time when I was lucky enough to visit my own grandparents, and it made me long for them.

Grandpa’s cologne, as he leaned over me to give The Animal a toy, made me think of my Granddaddy who would have loved knowing these two kids and would have sung silly songs to them.
So, in honor of my Granddaddy, I want to share with my blog-reading friends and family the silliness he passed along:
1. I got a gal and a bulldog, too. My gal don’t love me, but my bulldog do.
2. I got a gal, 6 feet tall
Sleeps in the kitchen with her feet in the hall.
    I got a gal, 6 feet tall
Sleeps in the kitchen with her feet in the sink.
That don’t rhyme but her feet sure stink.
I loved my Granddaddy beyond reason. Still do.
