Poptropica from Ubisoft

Miss Sassy Pants was really excited to learn that we would be receiving our own copy of Ubisoft’s Poptropica Adventures for her Nintendo DS. Like any kid, she loves getting video games — especiallybeforeChristmas!
It didn’t take very long for her to rip open the package and start playing. She and my nephew, who we’ll call the Ninja, sat together at Nana and Opa’s house on Thanksgiving with their respective DS. The Ninja, being the loving big cousin that he is, helped Miss Sassy Pants navigate the game (she’s only 7) and figure out how to get started.
The point of the game is to find the comic book thieves. Players work through multiple levels and areas around the Poptropica Museum looking for clues to figure out the crime. Miss Sassy Pants says her favorite part right now is being a “little detective.” Knowing that she’s really in to mysteries and science makes this even better.
What I’ve noticed so far is that the game keeps her on her toes. She has a sewer system to help unclog, costumes to create, and Sir Rebral to defeat. She’s not having the easiest of times figuring it all out, and that makes it even better. I don’t want her playing something that doesn’t challenge her (plus, it’ll give me a chance to “help” her and play it all myself!).
In the spirit of sharing the game, I videotaped Miss Sassy Pants playing. She explains for you, our readers, a little about the game and how to navigate.
When you’re ready to buy your own copy of the game for the little person in your house (or yourself), be sure to look for it on Amazon.com or at Toysrus.com.
