None Like Him (Review & Giveaway)
It’s hard sometimes to remember that we aren’t the most important. To recall that what we go through on a daily basis is miniscule compared to Him.
We try to make our lives and our experiences bigger when we should be focused on praising the One who has made all of it. Who is endless. Limitless.
We attempt to put ourselves in the same category. There is no way we could ever fit in the same category as the One who made us. Loves us. Protects us.
That’s what None Like Him helps us remember.
God is self-existent, self-sufficient, eternal, immutable, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent, sovereign, infinite, and incomprehensible.
We’re not.
And that’s a good thing.
Our limitations are by design. We were never meant to be God. But at the root of every sin is our rebellious desire to possess attributes that belong to God alone.
Calling us to embrace our limits as a means of glorifying God’s limitless power, Jen Wilkin invites us to celebrate the freedom that comes when we rest in letting God be God.
In her book, Jen Wilkin describes the 10 ways that God is different from us. From being infinite to self-sufficient to eternal to omniscient, Wilkin’s explanation of why God is so much more than we’ll ever be or ever understand puts into perspective how amazing He is and how awesomely powerful and indescribable his love is.
My favorite part of Wilkin’s text is her opening line: “If you had told me five years ago that I would one day write a book for Christian women that led off with a quote from Proverbs 31, I probably would have punched you in the face.”
The entire book reads like you’re sitting with Wilkin having a conversation. This book would be perfect for a Sunday School or book study devotional.

Sometimes I like to pretend that I’m in control and I make the plans. Then God comes along with a big ole belly laugh and reminds me who is really driving this train! LOL
He’s hilarious like that.
