MyFitU.com: Review and Giveaway
When my Mamavation Bootcamp ends, I won’t have the awesome MrBookieboo to give me my daily workouts. This means I need to either create my own, repeat those that we were given, or find another resource for workout ideas.
MyFitU.com is a great wealth of information for those of us trying to keep ourselves in shape and healthy. It is filled with exercise ideas, meal ideas, and overall support.
When I started my membership, I was asked to input my basic information: gender, height, current weight, goals, age, etc.
Then, the program immediately suggested a daily caloric intake based on my level of activity and the goal I had set for myself. Currently, I still want to lose some weight, but I also want to tone and be leaner. I love that the program gave me that as an option along with simply losing weight or simply toning.
The next time I logged in, MyFitU.com asked me for some information about my sleep and stress levels. I love that this is part of what I’ve signed up for as I know I need to sleep better, and I’m certain there is a correlation to stress level and amount of sleep (or lack of sleep!). Since I’m still waking at least once at night to nurse Flash, I’m thinking I’ll see a pattern arise if I don’t get to bed at a decent time.
I’m always looking for food ideas, and MyFitU.com has the answer. There are options to search (I immediately searched for a smoothie recipe), and there are also suggested recipes to make.
Once you click on an option, you can see the ingredients needed, the recipe, and the nutritional information. My favorite part of this piece is that I can even see the exchanges listed. My Mamavation Bootcamp eating plan used exchanges, so I’ve become very used to counting my starches, lean meats, fruits, veggies, and fats. I’m more than excited to see that I can continue that frame of mind with this program!
Much like the recipe portion of the site, there is an exercise portion. It has already set me up on a program that will give me 2 rest days (I chose this when I first logged in) and the strength and cardio through the week. Today, it had me planned for a strength workout:
Once I click on the START option, I’m given my list of exercises for the workout. There is even an option to watch a video in case I don’t know the correct way to do a specific exercise. My example shows jumping jacks — I’ve been doing those since elementary school — but you get the point!
If the exercise isn’t something I want to do that day, or if I’m just looking for another option, there is a chance to “SWAP EXERCISE.” This would be handy if I don’t have the suggested equipment needed for that particular movement.
