Mamavation Monday – Watching the Numbers Fall
Happy Mamavation Monday!
It’s Memorial Day which holds special significance. I first want to thank all of the men and women who have sacrificed both big and small for our country. My father is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force, and although he didn’t fight on the front lines, he served his country for 20+ years in multiple capacities. So, thanks Dad. And thanks to my father-in-law, my brothers-in-law, and my Dave-in-law for all that you did to keep us safe and free here in the United States.
With the Memorial Day holiday comes cookouts and other celebrations. For us, we had the pleasure of enjoying our Animal’s second birthday. Yes, I know it’s a cliche to say that I don’t know where the time has gone – but seriously. Talk about flying by!
Saturday was a beautiful day, and the Animal really enjoyed his balloons, presents, and all of the attention! We had family and friends over to celebrate the big day, and I made this really funky yet right-tasty cake!
I was craving soda all week, but I know that this most likely stems from the bit of exhaustion I’m experiencing with a new baby. So, I made do with a glass of decaf sweet tea. Still not a perfect choice, but it keeps me from breaking my going-on-a-year-strike on soda.
Time for victories!
Non-Scale Victories
- I only ate one piece of birthday cake.
- I have actually done some squats and booty-shaking while trying to get Flash to sleep!
- I have nursed in public without much effort twice now. The first time was LAST week at the park. This last time was at a restaurant. Makes going out with three kids much, much easier.
Scale Victories
- I’m down another 2 pounds for a total of 27 lbs lost since Flash was born! Woooooohooo!!
- That leaves me only 12 lbs to my pre-pregnancy weight and only 26 lbs to my goal weight. This is TOTALLY attainable!
What are you doing or what did you do for Memorial Day weekend? Share with me!
I hope you all have a wonderful week!
