Mamavation Monday: After Pie

Mamavation Monday: After Pie

Oh my gracious what a wonderful holiday break! My family had a chance to spend some really great time together and relax. There were even a couple of naps, some online shopping, and some really great pie.

Which brings me to the issue at hand: pie. It’s so scrumptious and wonderful, but it’s so evil.

Pie is evil.

It started with Thanksgiving day when I had some Key Lime pie that I brought to the family dinner. The next day, I was invited to a Pie Party where my friends sent me home with almost two full pies. The next day, we had another family gathering and brought home more pie. (To top it off, I had also made a devil’s food cake with peanut butter frosting — and we had leftovers.) Pie became the perfect meal for any time of day: breakfast, a snack, lunch, dessert, post-dessert.

Yesterday, my pregnant belly felt like it was going to burst. I thought maybe that the baby was growing quickly and my stomach had basically just “popped.” Then, I realized that while yes, the baby is growing, pie probably wasn’t helping.

Today is Mamavation Monday, it’s a new week, and I polished off the last of the Key Lime for breakfast. So, we’re starting fresh. Here are my rejoices and goals:

  • I am about 95% finished with purchasing presents. I really like online Black Friday shopping!
  • I found some all-natural soda and tried that. I’m not sure if I’ve broken my no-soda clause, but it was really nice to have something with ingredients I could both recognize and pronounce. I also seriously enjoyed the bubbly.
  • We did go through a drive-thru two times (Aaron is a bad influence). But, I did NOT get fries nor did I even eat ONE of Aaron’s.
  • GOAL: Christmas decorations up by the end of the week.
  • GOAL: Find a way to exercise daily. I keep letting the cold weather be an excuse.
  • GOAL: House in a *more* organized and cleaned fashion.

How was your Thanksgiving? Are you having to do a lot to recover? And what are your goals for the week?
