KissPat Temporary Hair Chalk (Review)
Back in my younger days, I loved coloring my hair. After the first time I tried temporary color (I chose red, and boy was it red), I was a blonde, a darker brunette, and a redhead. The best experience I had with hair color was, of course, done professionally by one of my friends who was a hair dresser.
When I was pregnant with Miss Sassy Pants, I decided that I should go blonde. Friends warned me to not dye my hair while pregnant, but I turned a deaf ear to them and did it anyway.
They were right.
My hair was actually a very interesting orange. That was almost ten years ago, and I have not colored my hair since (even with the greys peeking out on top).
Miss Sassy Pants and I received some KissPat Temporary Hair Chalk to try, and we were excited. I was mostly excited because I could put some fun color in my hair without worrying that it would do something funky due to hormones or grey hair.
The colors we received were purple and green. We opted for the purple first.
Miss Sassy Pants’s hair is just a little lighter than mine, so it looked pretty good. My hair, especially because it is short, was a little harder to make the color visible. I think next time, I’ll put just a little more on.
The color stayed in until our next shampooing (Miss SP’s first coloring stayed in until she went swimming).
If I could have one complaint, it would be the ease (or un-ease) of application. The directions on the box weren’t explicit about how to get color straight on to my hair. It mentioned wetting my hair with some water spray, but then it suggested twisting the hair for better application. This girl needs a little more of a play-by-play rather than an assumption that I understand what they’re talking about.
In the end, the KissPat Temporary Hair Chalk was fun and relatively easy to use (once my 9 year old showed me how).
Have you ever used hair chalk? What did you think?
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
We saw this at the salon when we got our hair cut last week. Frances was fascinated by it and I’ll admit to being interested. Maybe I’ll buy some as a surprise for our beach trip!
It’s fun for something not-so-permanent!
