G: Gurus and Geniuses #AtoZChallenge

Last week was a nightmare…in my blogging world, at least.

I attempted to switch my domain from one host to another. Should have been easy. I had Support providing me with links to instructions, guides, step-by-step help. And then I broke my site.

I reached out to Megan who I talk to about random stuff anyway but also who I knew was techy-er than I am. She offered some suggestions and then realized it was out of her realm as well. Bless her, she took my conundrum to a group of tech folk who began asking questions, troubleshooting, and trying to help.

And they didn’t even know me.

But then suddenly, the Heavens parted, the angels sang, the sun shone down, and there was Michael.

Michael and Megan are friends; and just like that, he was fixing my site. He asked me a few questions, got the lay of the land, and went to work.

Almost 48 hours later, my site was finally fixed. We’d lost some of the formatting, but my posts were still in existence (this was my biggest concern) and much of my media was still intact.

I don’t know what I would have done without Michael (and Megan, for that matter).

If you are in need of a business coach or someone who has a no-nonsense approach to business and life, you need Megan in your world. She is marketing and networking savvy. She is on top of the latest trends. And she gets it. Hang out with Megan on Facebook at Megan Renee Coaching or go right to her site (MeganRenee.org) for her amazing wealth of knowledge.

If you are looking for site support or even deeper techy stuff that I don’t understand (PBNs, website content creation, website consultation), I cannot give Michael a good enough referral. HE. IS. AMAZING. And patient. I felt like such an idiot for the mess I had made, and he was gracious enough to suggest that it wasn’t my fault (I know it was in some way). Go visit him at The Blackwell Project…and buy him a beer.

It’s handy to have geniuses and gurus in your arsenal. Social Media and networking, while sometimes exhausting and time-sucking, are actually pretty wonderful when used for their original purpose.

I’m participating in the A to Z Challenge. Come play!
