Front Porch in Cosby, TN: A Must Visit!
Right after Christmas, my family went to Tennessee with the main goal of visiting the Titanic Museum. I searched and searched for cabins that were within our price range, and I finally found one in Cosby, TN. I like checking out local places, so I started doing research on restaurants and shops that we could visit when were weren’t traveling to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge.
There aren’t many research spots online for Cosby, TN, but I did find one site that was pretty helpful: DiscovertheSmokies.com.
One of the restaurants that stuck out to me was the Front Porch Mexican and Bluegrass. I loved the idea that there was a mix of Mexican food and bluegrass music. And, I thought the juxtaposition of the two ideas was hilarious enough that we had to go there.
On our first night in Cosby, we found the Front Porch. You can imagine my disappointment when I realized it wasn’t actually a Mexican and Bluegrass joint anymore. But, that was the only disappointment of the night.
First, we were greeted by the water AND the kitchen staff. We were presented with our menus and the waiter brought us our food. He was exceptionally conversational and made us feel right at home.
He suggested that we try their appetizer of the night, the potato cake. We decided to spring for it, and we loved it!
Then, Aaron and I both ordered one of their entree specials, the chicken parmesan. It was delicious. One of the side items with the special was a house salad, and they served it with their homemade salad dressings. I had their honey dijon, and Aaron ordered the bleu cheese. Very good!
All in all, we enjoyed our experience. The chefs came out to check on us, our waiter was attentive. We will definitely go back the next time we’re in the area!
