DIY Counter Cleaner
As I become more and more comfortable with my essential oils and experimenting with them, I am branching out and trying new recipes for various purposes. I’ve been wanting to create my own counter cleaner for the kitchen, and I’m loving what I’ve created.
It’s ridiculously easy and cheap to create this. You can go to your grocery store to find the base ingredients, and then you need some essential oils that will provide both a lovely smell and antiseptic properties.
For my DIY Counter Cleaner, I used a 2 oz bottle (NOTE: In the future, I’d make this a larger bottle that sprays better. I had found this bottle at a craft store and use it for the purpose of trying this cleaner out.)
I also used Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) and distilled water — both of these you can find for less than $2 in a very large bottle at your local grocery.
Into the 2 oz bottle, I poured ACV (1/3 of the bottle) and filled to the top with the distilled water (2/3 of the bottle).
Then, I dropped in:
8 drops Eucalyptus
8 drops Lavender
8 drops Tea Tree
4 drops Lemon
Just be sure to shake the bottle before you use it each time.
I am loving my Simply Aroma oils! They are certified 100% therapeutic grade and are held up to the Simply Pure quality standard.
The best part about this recipe is that I know if I spray my counter or table to clean it, I don’t have to worry about my children touching it immediately after. This cleaner sprayed on a counter is nothing like bleach which then requires a follow up wiping! This still provides the antibacterial/antiseptic cleaning properties without the danger.
Have you created your own counter cleaner? I’d love to see your recipe, too!
