Brushing my teeth with mud!

Brushing my teeth with mud!

If I told you I was brushing my teeth with mud, would you think I was crazy? Probably. But for the last month, I have, in fact, been brushing my teeth with clay.

As I continue to try to find ways to clean up the food that my family ingests as well as the personal care products we use, toothpaste has been one of those challenges. I know we are encouraged to avoid flouride. But, some of the other nasty toxins that regular toothpaste includes are triclosan and sodium lauryl sulfate.

Finding a toothpaste that is clear of toxins as well as somewhat tasty has been a challenge. When I received some Earthpaste, I found the solution.

Made by Redmond Trading Company, a company based in Utah that provides clean options for multiple kitchen-based and beauty items, Earthpaste contains nothing but natural ingredients. They pride themselves on keeping their products “simple, clean, and real–just the way nature intended.”

You are probably thinking that there is no way that the Earthpaste I tried could taste good. Even Aaron resisted assuming that because it was made from clay, it would have a “funky” taste.

I can promise you that the Earthpaste I tried (Wintergreen) was actually very tasty. It doesn’t have any foaming agent, so that was a sensation that I had to get used to. We’re all used to using toothpaste that gets foamy in our mouths. Earthpaste doesn’t have this characteristic.

While it may come out of the bottle with a brown color (it’s clay, remember?), it does not taste like mud or dirt. I can happily say that it works well, tastes great, and is truly clean.

Earthpaste also comes in other flavors: Spearmint, Cinnamon, Lemon (for kids), and Peppermint.

Be sure to stay tuned. I have more to say about Redmond and their quality, all-natural products. Next up: SALT!

  1. At first, I was surprised to hear mud or clay toothpaste. But I was delighted to know that there are natural and organic toothpastes that I could try. I heard many good things about Redmond. I better check out online if the brand has worldwide shipping too. Thanks for sharing.
