Brothers
I’m participating in the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge. Today’s letter is B.
Siblings. I have four of them. Through the years, we made tons of really great (and some crazy) memories. I’ll never forget the trip we made to Savannah to visit my great aunt. There are seven of us in the family, and she bought ONE small box of fried chicken to feed us all. We politely ate our teeny little piece of chicken and then forced Mom and Dad to take us out somewhere else afterward.
Memories like that make me excited to think about what my kids will laugh about when they get older.
I wonder, though, how things will be different for my kids based on their age range. Miss Sassy Pants is a full six years (and almost a half) older than the Animal. The Animal and Flash are only 23 months apart. This makes them already so close. They adore one another. Miss Sassy Pants doesn’t have a sister to bond with in the way that sisters will do, but the boys have the chance to bond in that way that only brothers can.
They have so much fun running around the house. It’s awesome to hear the Animal say, “Come on little buddy!” to his little brother. He randomly gives him hugs and kisses him on his head with such sweet adoration.
And the feeling is mutual. You can see how Flash looks up to his big brother when he copies every last thing the Animal does. Right now, it’s cute. I wonder how the Animal will react in a couple of years. Will he think his little brother is a nuisance? Or will they stay best friends?
I just love having the chance to watch.

Thanks for visiting. Glad you enjoyed!
Cute post and wish them lotsa love for each other as they cement their bond as they grow up:)
Thank you!!!
You’ve got the same configuration that we do, just different spacing. I’m a little sad that Frances doesn’t have a sister, but I keep telling myself that a sister who is 11 years younger with you isn’t the kind of sister I imagine she fantasizes about. The boys are very close and Benjamin totally adores Henry. Henry tries to be a good brother to him and they are so sweet when they are getting along. This past weekend, when they were all finally together again after a two week separation, the boys slept in the same bed because they had missed each other so much.
You make a good point. My sister and I are 8 years apart. She was more like an “aunt” growing up. Now, we are good friends!
My two lassies fight constantly, but let someone else meddle and they viciously stick up for one another.
Exactly – I was the same way as a kid with all my siblings. They got on my ever-loving nerves, but I’d fight FOR them!
What a great entry in AprilA2Z. I’m following from bloglovin and will revisit for your alphabet entries too!
Thank you, Sandra! It’s easy to write about the kids. 🙂
