Blessings: Crossword Puzzles (Day 12)
Verse to ponder: But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Mark 10: 6-8
I talk about Aaron a lot on my blog. Makes sense as he’s my husband and I really like him.
It’s funny how we found each other. We were both at the ends of our ropes for dating, and then we met. It was like God put us through the annoying dates and relationships so that when we finally were put in front of each other, we’d say, “Oh! This one is right.”
Lately, we’ve been working on crossword puzzles together. He usually starts them (I’m finding I’m not as successful with a blank canvas), and then I come swooping in to fill in the gaps. I have finished one or two without him needing to join for the end, but my favorite crossword puzzles are those that we do sitting side by side.
There’s something romantically dorky about working out problems with my husband. He’s well-rounded (does more than that Calculus he’s teaching), and he’s so smart. I love just talking to him in general because we’re either on the same wavelength or not too far away that it makes the conversation strained.
When I sit next to Aaron to work on a crossword, I get this dreamy middle school feeling in my chest. Here’s my hunka-hunka burnin’ love doing a crossword with me. He’s smart, cute, and interesting.
Or maybe we’re just old. Are crosswords only for old people? I’m choosing to believe they aren’t.
What do you love to do with your significant other?
