Blessings: Bath Time (Day 5)

Blessings: Bath Time (Day 5)

Blessings

Verse to ponder: Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 (ESV)

I don’t mean to always wish for time away from my children. But right now, I work three different jobs. All of them are available to work from home, and each of them requires some amount of time to focus. If I can get ahead, I can be less stressed (and get some time in front of the non-thinking TV shows we all so desperately need.

Since my back has gotten worse (I’ll be 30 weeks pregnant tomorrow!!), I’ve had a harder and harder time being in charge of bath time. Aaron has graciously taken this over. I’ll also admit that I really don’t like bath time. Too much splashing and crazy for me. I’m all business. Aaron is fun for the boys and thinks it’s hilarious when his shirt is soaked because they are crazy. Happy I can give him the gift.

In the twenty minutes or so that Aaron gives the boys a bath, I’m able to do various things either around the house or on the computer. My nature is to multi-task like a fiend, so I can generally get several tasks marked off my list.

And this is a blessing beyond belief.

To be able to be done with more work in just twenty minutes of time is outstanding. It makes mama happy. And you know the saying, “If mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.”

What awesome but seemingly small gift does someone in your family give you that you would consider a blessing?
