Kind of a Big Announcement
So, I have finally decided to share with the world: Aaron and I are expecting baby #3 in late April/early May 2013. (I give this broad range because baby #1 and baby #2 laughed in the face of their due dates.)
I was going to do something really adorable and take a picture of my kids to announce.
Miss Sassy Pants was going to be wearing her “I’m the Big Sister” shirt.
The Animal was going to wear a shirt that said, “Great. Now I’m the middle child.”
But, to do that, I was going to have to not only create the shirt for the Animal — I was going to also have to orchestrate the perfect picture moment. I just don’t have the energy to do that right now.
I started weirdly obsessing over how I was going to announce to the world. For the past few weeks, I was already starting to “show” and I was trying every which way to hide it. Granted, by baby #3, your body is simply saying, “Sweet. I’ve done this before. Let’s go!” I will admit that pulling the maternity clothes back out and sliding into the big-bellied maternity pants was exactly what I wanted to do (pregnant or not).
The creative juices just weren’t flowing. I didn’t have the energy or time to make anything or force the kids to look cute.
This is what I came up with:
I think my favorite reaction from one of my Facebook friends was:
So, yes. It was our announcement. We are excited and blessed and beyond thrilled to welcome another little spawn into the world.
