Mamavation Monday #7: One Step Forward…Two Steps Back

The evil but wonderfully
tasty cake.

I thought I was really making some headway, and I was, but then the big day hit: my birthday. With that day came cake. With cake comes milk. With cake and milk comes Lydia eating too much.

To top that off, I had the pleasure of throwing a shower for my dear friend who is expecting a boy in August. There were leftovers, so now I have both birthday cake and brownie cheesecake at my disposal.

I could just throw them out, I guess. But I’ve decided to enjoy my weekend (yes, it will all be gone within a very short amount of time), and then start fresh once they’re gone.

My fancy pedometer arrived this morning, so I have that on and am tracking my steps. I didn’t have it for my morning walk, so I guess I’ll find out tomorrow how many steps that will earn for me. My goal is 10,000 steps a day.

This past week’s triumphs:
* Walked every day M-F
* Did two days of core work (and felt the burn!)
* Pulled off a pretty awesome baby shower — and made most of the food myself!
* Got the house back into some semblance of order
* Lost 2 pounds!

This past week’s not-so-triumphant moments
* Gained back at least 4 pounds
* Ate a lot of sweets

All-in-all, it was a good week. I’m gearing up for the Mamavation 2 Week Challenge. Want to join me?

You should join me tonight for Mamavation TV. We’re going to be learning about how we can keep from overdoing a workout. MAMAVATION TV: Join us Monday night at 7pm PST/10pm EST on Mingle Media TV.
