Someday…
Someday
- Someday, I’ll watch an entire movie in one sitting without worry that you’ll wake up.
- But for now, I’ll watch you swing the plastic bat at the rocks in the driveway while you say, “Strong!”
- Someday, I’ll sleep in until lunch, wasting the day away.
- But for now, I’ll nuzzle your neck before the sun comes up.
- Someday, this house will be clean, orderly, and neat.
- But for now, we’ll keep smooshing play-doh on the table to make the planets.
- Someday, I’ll be on stage — singing, acting, dancing — like before you were born.
- But for now, I’ll sit here and watch Rolie Polie Olie – again – just because you love it.
- Someday, your father and I will lounge on a secluded beach soaking in the rays and sipping cold drinks.
- But for now, we’ll get too pink on our noses pushing you on the swing just to hear you say, “Higher! Higher!”
- Someday, I’ll listen to the silence of the house while you and your siblings are away at school.
- But for now, I’ll listen to the ABC song one more time because of the way you say, “el-em-en-oh-pee.”
- Someday, I’ll wave as you leave for your first day of college.
- But for now, I’ll chuckle while you wave the little flag on our walk home from the post office.
- Someday, I’ll grin as you hold your wife’s hand and walk away from me.
- But for now, I’ll hold your hand just a little longer while we rock and sing.
